Japan's Tokyo Tsukiji Hongwanji Buddhist temple is not far away from Tsukiji train station. It is a Buddhist temple belonging to the Jodo Shinshu Hongwanji-ha denomination, also known as Shin Buddhism, which was founded by the monk Shinran (1173-1263) and whose head temple is Hongwanji (Nishi Hongwanji) in Kyoto. The temple was first built near Asakusa, but was burnt down in a fire in 1657 and rebuilt at its current location in 1679.
Short Story about the visit: In a early morning on that day, we had planned to visit Tsukiji seafood market. We saw a beautiful Buddhist temple while walking on the way from Tsukiji train station to Tsukiji Market. We decided to visit the Tsukiji Hongwanji Buddhist temple to have a look. We sad in the temple nearly 30min. It was really a very peaceful place and a small group of people were praying. We had been visited a restaurant outside the temple, restaurant was within the temple complex and we had our breakfast after visit to the temple. It was a quite nice experience to visit the Tsukiji Hongwanji Buddhist temple.
Getting there, Near by train station is Tsukiji Station. To reach Tsukiji Hongwanji Buddhist temple, take Hibiya line and get down at Tsukiji train station, Exit 1
