Japan's Mt.Kawaguchiko Ropeway is a "crossing type" ropeway that
moves up and down. The ropeway uses a thick rope called "branch rope". It
is a place to relax and enjoy the scenery of Mt. Fuji and Lake and town
Kawaguchiko. It has few popular spots below,
Observatory The new observatory offers a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji
and its endless base. Mt.Kawaguchiko Ropeway top viewing platform provide
dramatic views of Kawaguchiko town, kawaguchiko lake and Mt.Fuji.
Heavenly Bell It is installed facing Mt. Fuji, and it is a great
location to ring the bell and take pictures while feeling the power of Mt.
Fuji.
Kawarake-nage Kawarake throwing, is pottery throwing activity. The
small clay discs can be purchased just outside the Tanuki Tea House at 100
Yen for two, and thrown through a rope under a wooden gate. This is meant
to ward off evil.
Rabbit shrine is a shrine with the "Rabbit" that appears in the old
Japanese story, to pray for the safety and good legs of climbers and
tourists.
Tanuki Chaya is a building designed to give a Japanese atmosphere,
like that appears in old tales, so that it will be a place of relaxation
for visitors to Mt. Kawaguchiko. At Tanuki Chaya, we have various
souvenirs related to Mt. Fuji as well as light meals such as the skewered
dumpling that is baked on the spot using charcoal fire.
Getting there, To reach Mt.Kawaguchiko Ropeway via bus, reach Kawaguchiko Station via train or bus first, and then take Red line bus from Kawaguchi-ko station to the Mt.Kawaguchiko Ropeway. It is 15 minutes bus ride.
Enterence: Buy ticket at Kawaguchi ropeway ticket counter or Buy pakage (bus+boat+ropeway) ticket at Kawaguchiko Station or visit in person by walk at address below from Kawaguchi station.
